As surprising as it is to learn that Betonia, this boats name, is Finnish for concrete the subtle un-flashy exterior design of this vessel leaves you surprised to find such a beautiful open and bright interior accommodations.  Designed and built purposely to blend into any world culture outwardly her naturally lit and beautiful wood interior surprise the senses – spectacular comes to mind.

Designed and built to cruise the world by a boat builder in Switzerland, Betonia has logged over 80,000 nautical miles around our globe.  She features an amazing looking 90hp auxiliary and has the tankage you want for a long range cruise.

Betonia is a heavily constructed ferro-cement center cockpit ketch that is actually 39’ on deck but the windvane and bowsprit add on the extra length overall to reach 47’. The original owner, a professional shipwright with a long career, built her as his own from a Colin Archer hull design and you’ll be hard pressed to know she is ferro-cement by looking at her smooth topsides.

Her interior has storage everywhere, she could easily be named Varastointi instead of Betonia, with many drawers, lockers, cabinets, bookshelves, and closets.

This Colin Archer sailboat design is a capable blue water cruiser, very suitable as a live aboard, a passage maker, or for cruising around the coasts.
