Designed by renowned catamaran designer Roger Hill and originally built for a New Zealand buyer, this 11.2m powercat was soon sold to the Alinghi syndicate for use as a weather support boat in their Americas Cup campaigns. Weather One, as she was called then, was a weather information support boat stationed on the race course with a 100’ +/- mast full of atmospheric sensors to help their team get all the information they could use in defending the cup from the competition. She was put in dry storage after their ultimate loss to Oracle and was eventually purchased by one of Alinghi’s professional sailors and brought to the PNW and re-outfitted for cruising our amazing waters during his yearly summer excursion to the Gulf Islands and beyond.
A light strong hull, open floor plan, stable catamaran design and twin diesel power make her the perfect PNW Cruising or fishing platform and at under 40’ you’ll not find a more economical powercat to own and use. With her canvas enclosed flybridge she has all weather ability without cluttering up the salon with everything needed to navigate from inside.
